Collection: Orishas

It's difficult to find a lot of imagery on the Orishas; due to colonization, much of it has been lost to history. In light of that, I decided to reimagine them based on their spiritual associations and energies. While this collection isn't meant to be a historical representation of the Orishas, I hope it serves as a spiritual one; representing the African diaspora and touching the hearts and souls of its descendants worldwide.

Via Wikipedia: Orishas (singular: orisha)[1] are spirits that play a key role in the Yoruba religion of West Africa and several religions of the African diaspora that derive from it, such as Cuban, Dominican and Puerto Rican Santería and Brazilian Candomblé. The preferred spelling varies depending on the language in question: òrìṣà is the spelling in the Yoruba language, orixá in Portuguese, and orisha, oricha, orichá or orixá in Spanish-speaking countries.
